Meet THE SMITHS
James & Nancy Smith have been residents of Monument, Colorado since 1993. The Smith family loves animals, the great outdoors, hockey and figure skating, music, our church, and all our wonderful friends we have come to know over the years.
Nancy is a full time stay-at-home mom who has worked as a part time veterinary technician since 2000. She began providing special care in her home for family dogs that were recovering from surgical procedures or had special needs while owners were at work or away from home. Because of her welcoming approach to dogs of all shapes and sizes and her conscientious attention on the details of animal care, her clients began asking for her to care for their dogs for daycare and boarding. Since Nancy has been taking care of dogs in our home, her client base has grown and expertise has deepened. She is a professional caregiver with an extraordinary love for dogs that brings comfort to her clients while they are away.
James retired from a 25-year career as a human service professional and business developer. He earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology in 1984. James is now a full time dad and dog lover, writer, musician, photographer and backpacker. He has worked closely with Nancy in the development of THE SMITHS.
